One day in beginning of May did I see a red cat walking around the roofs. He looked very young, innocent and lost. In the night the other cats fight with him but it seems to that he stayed around ours whole the time, running around on the walls around the closets houses at ours. In daytime "workers" were less nice to him... and Evert gets very stressed out. If it's raining he hide under a roof of a shelter. He was very curious about what I was doing and when I cleaned the windows he was sitting all the time on the wall and looked at me. He was also very curious about my cats Madame Ophelie and Miss Kissy in a very friendly and open way. I went to Sweden for a week and when I come home I heard him in the garden. He has moved in... We sent out these picture on our "Whats up" the group on our street, but no one knows about him. So I contacted our animal centre in our city at the weekend and decided to come in with him on Monday. He was very hungry, skinny and bony, so I give him some food. He slept under my big grass plant in the garden. Every time I come out in the garden he was with me. And when I was gardening he helped out and he was natural with us when we BBQ in the evening. Adorable. At the center the found out that he was chipped. And they could call the owners. Happy ending for everyone! Evert, as I have named "Two-socks" (after the wolf in the movie Dancing with wolfs), have disappeared from home when the baby in the house was born and Evert have walked 3 km before he showed up at ours. I am very honoured that he chose us and I am very happy that voluntaries at animal centres make the life for our small friends a better world to live in. Thanks, Direnberscerming in Mechelen! It was emotional to leave him at the center in a cage... but I hope that he will have a really good life (and if he disappear again I hope he will show up ut ours, he made paw steps in my heart).
